06/26: I Have A Headache Devo
If you are visiting me today because you read my devo, please don't be mad! I have been struggling with God for a long time telling him that I really did not want to write that, but He is pretty persuasive and whispered, "Do it."
I know there are many reasons that women choose not to be intimate with their husband, and many may be legitimate. My prayer is that whatever is plaguing your marriage, you will discover The Great Healer.
God Spot from SheSpeaks:
Five years ago she wandered into the prayer room at SheSpeaks looking like a lost puppy. Her face was drawn, her spirit crushed, and her nerves were frazzled. She was the mother of 4 and living in an abusive marriage. We prayed together.
This year a vibrant young woman came bouncing toward me at the conference. A transformation had occurred and I didn't recognize her. She whispered with a quivering lip and a soft smile, "My husband is my best friend." She gave God all the glory for what he was able to accomplish in her broken life.

06/23: My Group Rocked!
Each year we are blessed at SheSpeaks to mentor a very special group of ladies. I always feel that God has hand-picked them just for me. This year my group rocked!
Here is a picture (we are missing Kathy and Kelly).

My friends know I am an early riser, which also means I am in bed during the nightly news! Yes, I said during.
Dwight and I sit down on that incredibly soft couch and we sink quickly into la-la land. We always kid ourselves and say, "Let's catch the weather report tonight." Now we both know they tease you with tidbits throughout the newscast, but the meat of the forecast is one of the last things they report. My chin rests firmly on my chest before the weatherman ever makes a full body appearance in front of that map.
This week however, has been an exhilarating adventure! Up before dawn and crashing after midnight has become the norm and I love it! I was thrilled to join God on this ride we call SheSpeaks.
God spots were sprinkled in every corner of the event! I will share some with you.
God spot #1 - The Root Canal
Our conference was previously held at the Renaissance Hotel, where we developed a great friendship with our liaison there. He joined the team at the brand new Embassy Suites a year and half ago and convinced us this year to give it a try. On our first day, while we were eating lunch he came to ask if everything was going well. We raved about the excellent service his staff was providing.
He then told us that he was on his way for a surprise root canal they had discovered at a routine office visit. I immediately felt the Holy Spirit tap on my heart and I said, "May I pray with you?" I placed my hand on his cheek and prayed.
The next morning at breakfast he couldn't wait to tell me the dentist could no longer find a reason for the root canal! How great is our God? I told him that God wanted to give him a personal touch and now he must go and share this exciting news with others. He did, for you see hotel employees began to pour into our prayer room.
We go expecting one thing and God always surprises us with more.
Will you share your 'more' with me and the other gals who come to visit?
In His grip,
Luann

06/18: Preparing for SheSpeaks!
Just in case any of you ladies who will be attending SheSpeaks this year feels doubt, fear or have feelings of inadequacy...take heart! Our team arrived this morning to begin preparations for your arrival and as you can see,

we all put on our polish one toe at a time...just like you!
We all wonder what God was thinking when He called us to do this! We wonder if we will say the right thing, look the right way, act and react with godly wisdom.
Well, let me reassure you, we had girls show up with the same haircut, the same toenails and even the same top! God uniquely works in each one of us to bring about His plan. Here is proof that we are as normal....(or abnormal depending on how you look at it) as any woman out there.

There is nothing exceptional about us...only that we serve an exceptional Savior.
If you are coming to SheSpeaks we can't wait to hug your neck! If you are not, we covet your prayers! Either way, leave a note telling us how you overcome fear when it overwhelms you.
In His grip,
Luann

05/30: SheSpeaks 2008
Can you believe it? We are less than a month away from one of the most moving weekends you will ever experience! For those of you who are in my evaluation group this year and have jumped over here to get acquainted, WELCOME! I have a prayer for you:
Father, we come before your throne on behalf of Daphne, Kelley, Lara, Kelly, Katherine, Jennifer, Ashlee, Mylah, Tonya, Maxine, J. Kathy, and Deanna this morning and ask for you to pour out your blessings on each one. We pray that you will prepare their hearts for the journey you are about to take them on. We ask that Your peace sweep over them when they have anxious moments and fearful thoughts. We pray that you will bring Philippians 4:13 to their mind whenever they feel discouraged. Lord, we know that you have called them to this place, 'for such a time as this' and so we rejoice that they have been obedient to the call. You have taught us throughout Your Word that when we are obedient, you show up in style! We can't wait to see what you have in store for this band of believers who will now become a bonded sisterhood. Ecc. 4:12 promises that a cord of three strands is not easily broken, so how much stronger will this band of 12 become! You had 12 tribes and 12 disciples and today Father you have prepared something unimaginable for this dozen.
Protect the details of their trip, Lord, for we know you are a God of order and detail. You created the universe and our inner most being, so we ask for Your sovereign hand to be in every part of the planning. Help each woman to forget about self and focus on You as she prepares to share the message that you have laid on her lips. We ask for Your will to be done, in Jesus' name, amen.
This is your scripture for today: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Please share your thoughts in the comments!
Love you and can't wait to hug you in person!
