Yesterday I read this passage in Jesus Calling and it gave me permission to do something I resist.

REST

The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Exodus 33:14

Gigantic hurdles in my path made it hard to see the finish line or continue running the race.

Easter news nearly buried me.

So God gave me this verse. He said, "Shut down. Be still. Come to Me. Everyone and everything else can wait. Rest."

As if God was patting my head and whispering,"Rest," my eyes shut without resistance and without guilt.

Today, He let the sun rise over my lake with magnificent stripes of color sweeping to the left and right.

Think I'll shake out all my markers and pass them to the Master Designer.

He's painting a new picture in my life and yours.
