Today the devotion Coming Back stirred many emotions when I was writing it. For years I felt unworthy, unlovable, and too far gone for God to want me.
Maybe you're there or know someone who is.
Over the last 4 months I've been speaking across the country almost every weekend and I've discovered, we're not alone. Most women have some level of unworthiness that they face in the mirror.
Thoughts rise up spilling over the edge of our hearts. Past memories turn into guilty verdicts that condemn. Then shame and hopelessness settle in and decide to stay.
In John 4:10, Jesus tells a woman who lived a life of shame and regret, these words:
"If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."
4:14 "...whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst, indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
Girlfriend, do you see that promise tucked inside those words?
God sees us the way we will become. He is not interested in where we were, only in where He longs to take us.
Come on, lock arms with me and lets focus on what's ahead and slap blinders over our past.
Come running back to the Father who loves unconditionally.
Sharing your walk helps others heal. Do you have a story? We'd love to hear your comment.
